Tip - How to Add a Picture to Your Profile

Hey, I'm taking requests now!

TinaLouise asked how to add a picture to her profile, which is a great question!

First, you go to your User Control Panel by clicking on the User CP link in the upper left corner of the main page (or most any page, really):



Then, in your User Control Panel, you click on the Change Avatar link:



From that point, you have three options... you can choose an existing avatar from our gallery (or galleries)... but right now, there really isn't anything available there (we'll add some in the near future). The second choice is you can upload a picture or drawing or whatever from your computer, just click on the "Choose File" button and find the file you want to upload. The third choice is to link to a picture or drawing or whatever that already exists online. Just put the URL to that picture in the box next to "Avatar URL."

For best results, edit your picture to be just the way you want it before uploading... you really don't have any editing options once you've uploaded it (you can delete or replace it, of course). It should also be the right file size (less than 10k) and the right size (100 x 100 pixels). VBB Scene does have the ability to resize pictures, but it's always best to do it yourself before uploading if you can (in my opinion, anyway). All common image formats - JPG, GIF, PNG, etc are supported.

Once you've selected or uploaded your new avatar, click the "Change Avatar" button at the bottom of the page to save your changes.

Have fun with this! It doesn't HAVE to be a picture of you, it can be a drawing or a cartoon or whatever!
